Rakesh's work on thermo-thickening in associating polymer solns published in Langmuir (Sep 2009)
Matt wins Innovator of the Year from The Daily Record for our hemostatic Nano-Velcro (Sep 2009)
Langmuir special issue on gels has three articles from group, including a Perspective (July 2009)

We seek to understand how molecules and nanoparticles assemble spontaneously ("self-assemble") at the nano-micro scales. Our work gives insights into the design and function of biomolecular structures. Moreover, we develop rules for the design of new types of ("smart") fluids and materials that could be useful in consumer products, oil recovery, drug delivery and nanotechnology.
